ArtStreet Cafe Manager Profile: Joe Guy

Our first manager profile will feature the current president of ArtStreet Cafe: Joe Guy. Joe is a sophomore International Business and Operations Management major from Dayton, Ohio. The ArtStreet Scene caught up with Joe earlier today amidst the dreary weather.

AS: Thanks for allowing us to interview you this morning Joe, we really appreciate it. Can you please describe your responsibilities as the president of ArtStreet Cafe?

JG: As President, I supervise the management team. I oversee all functions of the business including: daily operations, marketing and brand development, catering, entertainment events, and the relationship between the cafe and the rest of the ArtStreet Complex. Also, I work with the management team to develop a divisional strategy for the cafe and create a budget with guidance from the VP of Accounting and CFO.

AS: I bet all that work makes you hungry. What is your favorite thing to order at ArtStreet Cafe?

JG: The Denver Scrambler on a spinach wrap! It is the perfect mix of egg, pepper jack cheese, veggies, and a little Mexican spice to jump-start my day.

AS: That sounds delicious. What would you consider to be your favorite ArtStreet Cafe experience?

JG: St. Patty's Day 2009! The cafe set an all-time daily sales record of $2,071.55! So sweet.

AS: Congratulations to you and your team for that success! For those of us that were not able to enjoy St. Patrick's Day at ArtStreet Cafe, what advice would you give to hungry students looking for a meal?

JG: Don't be afraid to ask questions. Our staff is really knowledgeable about our menu items and will help you to order something that will satisfy your hunger or quench your thirst. Take a few friends with you and eat together! After you enjoy a delicious meal, take a break from the stress of classes, projects, and papers, enjoy some time with your friends by playing a board game, or checking out some of the artwork in the cafe and displays in Studio D.

AS: Great advice, Joe, but can you summarize why ArtStreet Cafe is great in 140 characters or less? (Twitter-style).

JG: The great food, great people, and great atmosphere create a truly unique experience on campus.

AS: Thank you, Joe. Again, we appreciate your time here at The ArtStreet Scene, and we look forward to you and your management team doing great things in the future!
