ArtStreet Cafe Manager Profile: Steve Cabanski

The ArtStreet Scene caught up with ArtStreet Cafe's General Manager Steve Cabanski this afternoon. Over a cup of chicken and dumpling soup (Steve's favorite item at the cafe), we discussed his role as General Manager.

AS: Thanks for talking with us, Steve. Can you tell our readers a little background information about yourself?

SC: I am a junior, entrepreneurship and management major from Toledo, Ohio.

AS: This will be your second year as the ArtStreet Cafe General Manager. Can you describe what you actually do?

SC: I am responsible for all of preventative maintenance, ensuring we pass all health inspections, keeping up with the heath standards, ordering all of the cafe's products and supplies, overseeing catering, and managing our product inventory.

AS: Wow, it sounds like you have your hands full. How did you get involved with ArtStreet Cafe in the first place?

SC: My freshman year, my brother Chris (ASC accountant at the time) brought me in to have lunch. I ordered The Beast, and a few days later applied for a job.

AS: Since you will be entering your fourth year with the cafe next semester, what has been your favorite memory?

SC: Definitely the Cabrewing Trip in which I came back with one shoe and no shirt.

AS: (Laughing) That sounded like a fun trip. Thank you for your time, Steve. Best of luck in the upcoming year.

Stay tuned for the next interview in which the ArtStreet Scene sits down with the Director of Marketing: Amanda Pfriem.
